The Poás Volcano National Park, is located on the Central Volcanic Mountain Range at 2500 meters above sea level and an approximate distance of 36km north of our Hotel, the climate is cool where the Premontane Rain Forest and Tropical Cloud Forest predominate, it has an area of 1200 hectares, the main attraction is its imposing active crater considered the second largest crater in the world, you can also visit the Botos Lagoon (temporarily closed) named after the aborigines who inhabited the area when the Spaniards arrived during the time of the conquest.
A biota of a great variety of birds including: the fire-throated hummingbird, the black guan and the quetzal, mammals such as poa´s squirrels, coatis, foxes, coyotes among others, you can see very representative vegetation of the Tropical Cloud Forest such as epiphytic plants and the umbrella poor.
